Macadamia nuts have been shown to lower cholesterol and blood pressure due to their high levels of monounsaturated fats (MUFAs). Ready to add some dehydrated macadamia nuts to your trail mix?

Here is a delicious recipe to get you started:

Basic Trail Mix with Macadamia Nuts

3 cups Hawaii Local Buzz’s macadamia nuts (play around with different flavors!)
3 cups dried cranberries
2 cups chocolate chunks (get experimental!)
3 cups of your favorite bite-sized cereal (the healthier, the better.)

Mix it all together and bag it up. If you seal it in an airtight container, it will last for a few weeks and still taste fresh.

Here’s the best part: as we mentioned in the ingredients list, you can play around with different flavor combinations to suit your palate. If you love the combination of sweet and salty, add Natural Sea Salt or Smoky Garlic macadamia nuts to the mix. If you’re all about the sweet, go wild and use our Vanilla Crunch, Caramel Crunch, or Cinnamon Bun Crunch flavors for a delicious dessert trail mix.

Or, consider playing around with our delicious chocolates. Crumble up our various chocolates, like the Dark Chocolate Vanilla or our White Chocolate Cinnamon Bun to take your flavor party one step further. If you’re headed on a long hike or surf, throw in some of our Chocolate Covered Coffee Bean Crunch, which will keep you going for hours.

Our Sweet and Smoky macadamia nuts make a delicious base for a barbecue-themed trail mix, perfect for summers.  Use Chex as the cereal, replace the chocolate with more savory options like sunflower seeds or pretzels, and use dried pineapple instead of cranberries for a delicious Hawaiian barbecue trail mix.
